What Game Is Theo Actually Playing?

Written by Jeremy Docteur on Friday, 24 May 2013 12:53. Posted in Captain Fan-Tactique

Football? Only when he decides to. Taking the fans for fools ? Certainly. His case is based on a paradox; with 21 goals (14 in Premier League) he has just achieved the most prolific season of his (not so young) career. The story can even go further as he is Arsenal's highest goalscorer this season. In terms of assists Walcott is also Arsenal's second best player providing 10 of them, ranking him 3rd in the entire Premier League. Once all these figures are on the table, it is very hard to imagine one can be critical (constructively so)...

Goonersphere Home Team Season Review

Written by Goonersphere on Thursday, 23 May 2013 15:32. Posted in Home Team

The league campaign is over and there is much to reflect upon. Arsenal didn't have a great start and many doubted that Arsenal would make it into the Champions League places again. A late-ish rally of the troops saw Arsenal pick up more points than any other team from February 1st onwards and take 26 points from 30 in our final 10 games.

The greater than the year before's greatest ever Tottenham team for 50+ years crowed their way to a close finish behind the worse than the year before's worst ever Arsenal team in 20 years having been 7 points clear going into the final third of the season. There is lots to talk about and the Goonersphere Home Team have got together to do a Q&A on the season in a quick-fire season review.

Contributing today are William Benn (WB), Jeorge Bird (JB), Jeremy Docteur (JD), Brian Fettner (BF), Christopher Flanagan (CF), Gandalf The Red (GTR), Willem Gonggrijp (WG), Robert Moore (RM), Martijn Stolze (MS) and Ross Ack (RA).

Why We Can Be Champions Next Year

Written by Martijn Stolze on Tuesday, 21 May 2013 08:00. Posted in Martijn's Musings

Another summer, another set of chances. By clinching the top four, and the lucrative fest that is the Champions League, we look a club in far calmer waters who are going to far more exotic lands than we were in previous months. A club reinvigorated, with a foundation that makes all but one club in England green with envy and a manager who seems to have regained the fire that flamed his previous successes. The future for the Arsenal looks bright, and in this article I want to explain why I feel that the title is not beyond us next season.

A Tale of Two Hearts

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way.

Mount Forthplace Beckons

Written by Gandalf The Red on Sunday, 19 May 2013 10:09. Posted in The Fellowship of the Arse

Rise as one, Gooners near and far! For this is the day of battle, and we have little respite granted to us before the Toon-zog horde beckons in their filthy keep. This campaign has taken our fellowship through many a twist and winding turn, yet through shadow and flame we have emerged, destiny in hand, ready to claim Mount Forthplace.
